Welcome to Middle School Math! This class will emphasize mastering basic math skills necessary for Pre Algebra and beyond. It is designed for students who need more practice with multi-digit multiplication, long division, fractions, decimals, percents and problem solving. 4 days of outside class work will be assigned. Parents will be expected to oversee the completion and correction of daily assignments. Class time will be spent doing group problem solving activities and math games to reinforce basic skills. Students will complete two major projects during the year. The first project is a geometry construction project and the second is a house design. Materials needed: Good quality Geometer's Compass , Protractor, Scientific Calculator (with sin, cos, and tan functions), notebook, pencils, and colored pencils. My recommendations:
